It’s About Time

July 17, 2009

Well enough time has passed and I think that there might very well be enough of information compiled to make another meaningful blog post. Well….you know what I mean.

For the second time in a nearly two year span I am out of my walking boot and back into my own two shoes. The good news is that my foot is feeling a lot better compared to a year ago in the same situation. The bad news is that I am now tasked with losing all of the weight that I have gained during this process.

Granted I had become overweight since the foot pain started and gradually got worse and I became less active, this is true. But the last few years before the surgery I was REALLY inactive and REALLY out-of-shape. Post surgery number one I had actually lost quite a bit of weight (maybe 6-9lbs) due to not being all that hungry and due to the fact that I had to do everything using my arms and one leg. But after the I got back into my shoes I started having the problems that led me to the second surgery. Well needless to say the weight came back on and then some. Now that things are looking up again I can try to lose this burden that has been imposed on me, partly by fate and partly of my own doing.

I had also stopped my pursuit of my college degree(s) for some time. I am happy to say that I have since started back and I am coming close to earning my first degree in Business!

In the world of Baseball the Tigers are still in 1st place! They have been there since May and they have a 3 1/2 game lead over the White Sox. Curtis Granderson (my personal favorite), Justin Verlander, Edwin Jackson, and Brandon Inge all made the All-Star team. Inge went 0-10 in the Homerun Derby which really wasn’t all that big of a surprise. Yeah he has 21 Homers going in to the break but I imagine he has an easier time launching a fastball out of the park then a batting practice pitch, Inge doesn’t have THAT kind of power, his comes from the speed of the ball as well. Well Granderson was clutch in the the AL’s 13th straight win as he got a triple and ended up scoring the winning run!

The Tigers start the second half of the season tonight in the Bronx as they take of the Yankees. My eyes will be glued to the TV~!

A blog from beyond

April 10, 2009

I am producing this blog from beyond the confines of my home PC….. Well any PC. I am punching this gem up via my WordPress App on my iPod Touch.

My make up surgery was on Wednsday. Things went well. I could feel my arms when I woke up (always a plus). I left the same day. This has sucked hard thus far. I’m at my parents for now but I should be back home on Saturday.

I will keep pushing on though. Tigers home opened coming up in a few hours. Really looking forward to that.

The Week In One Post

March 19, 2009

It has in fact been that slow of a week. Kayla had her first real school function of sorts. Her school has a spring concert across the street from us over a John Glenn High School. I was really nervous for her because I know how bad she gets around a lot of people and how nervous she can be with so many eyes on her (lord knows I am). We were both so happy to see her walk out smiling! She sang songs with her classmates in front a packed auditorium (had to be at least 300 people). And she was great!

We were so happy that we went out to McDonald’s to treat her for being so good, not only during the concert but the whole school week. We made it home in enough time to catch the last half hour of House.

I guess I can’t really comment all that much on it. Having missed half the episode I had to take a guess at what was going on. But the last half of the show was really fun. No Heroes this week, and as usual there were no Scrubs either…..WTF!

Turns out I definitely need surgery on my foot again. I go back under the knife on April 8th………I am not looking forward to this at all. In fact I am really starting to dread surgeries , it feels like I am having one a year (and I might very be). As a person in their late 20’s this isn’t a good sign.

Jen and I watched Eagle Eye last night. Pretty fun movie. Not a blow away or anything like that. Certainly good for a once over. Popcorn movies are always a good time. Turn off your mind, have a snack, and kill some time. Speaking of that, check out the watchmen Opening Credits…..Maybe the best credit sequence ever.

Screwed…Literally By Screws!

February 11, 2009

Okay. I voted for Obama but his press conference on Monday caused the FOX to NOT air House last night. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! Interrupting my favorite TV is not the change I voted for Barack!

Well at least we had Heroes to fall back on and it has been freaking awesome since returning for the “Fugitives” stage of Season 3.

heroess3

I enjoyed the first half of the season well enough I suppose but I haven’t been totally digging the show like I did in the first season. This half of season three appears to be coming back to that season one form.

Oh yeah! I went back down to Ann Arbor today for a follow-up on my surgery from last June. Turns out that atleast one of my screws broke (perhaps two). At this stage in the recovery process this is not such a good thing. I have to go back under the kinfe to get it repaired. Everything should be okay after this one. The doctor said with all the work they did the first time there was a good chance that my body would have a hard time healing all of it perfectly.
