Glaringly Bad Plot-Holes

January 31, 2010

This is as good a way to describe things lately. A good movie or television script would have its writers trying their hardest to make sure there weren’t any. Such can not be said about my world lately. Things should be going good, in fact much better then they are. Jenny and I have a new baby on the way, I am getting some web work on the site to earn a little extra money for us, but things still feel pretty bad.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there is most definitely some kind of  negative vibe-ish/karma-y type things lingering around. It could be that I am nowhere close to losing the kind of weight I was hoping for, maybe its that my Dad has been unemployed for over a year now, I don’t know.

Either way, I am trying to keep busy. I recently watched the new Sherlock Holmes movieand The Men Who Stare At Goats.

I completely loved “Holmes” I actually enjoyed some of the Sherlock stories long before I knew there was to be a new movie made. I was easily suckered into this because of my love for House MD, and as soon as I heard they tried to update Holmes with more House like banter (House and Wilson obviously modeled after Holmes and Watson) I was on board for this one and it didn’t disappoint.  Don’t let the trailer fool you, it’s not a balls-to-the-wall action as it makes it seem.

“Goats” was funny and had its moments, it also had a stellar cast, but at the end of the movie I never really felt all that connected to it. I would say that it is woth a watch though.

Speaking of watching things, the new season of House has been quite good. I stopped watching Heroes all together this year. Things went down hill following the first season (which was awesome), but after that things turned sour a bit, and each season got worse and worse to the point where I just stopped watching. However I was pleasantly surprised at the new season of Scrubs. I am loving the new cast, and it keeps the right balance of old characters in there as well to make it still “feel” like the old show.

Hopefully if I go to bed right now, I can sleep until spring training starts. Yeeeesssss, the Tigers traded away Granderson (my favorite player) but I will in fact keep watching them despite that last factual nugget.

No House on Monday……..grrrrrr……Heroes was pretty decent however, one of the better episodes this season I would even say. FINALLY got to see Scrubs again and oooohhhh maaaannn was it a good episode. This season has been unbelievable when it comes to the funny scale. I wouldn’t even know where to begin…….

A whole lot of nothing else happened this week. Jen and I did get to see Changeling on Blu-Ray. We hadn’t seen it since we went to check it out in the theater. I just get glued to the screen watching that flick.

Oh yeah and I recently cemented my path as the nerdiest person I know….. I finally got all seven season of Star Trek: Voyager~!

This officially gives every season of every Start Trek ever plus all of the movies. To top it off I have and am continuing to watch all of it in chronological order! Right now I am on season seven of TNG and season two of DSS9.

The Epic Anniversary show was tonight. All I can say is that it blew away all of my expectations. I think it was easily our best show top to bottom and it had a little bit of everything on it. I got to meet some really classy and just flat out awesome people tonight as well. Thanks for making it my favorite wrestling related day ever in history!

Well the start of this week has sucked.

No House this week. This is always a sign that the week ahead will be shitty. Heroes was pretty decent, although I can’t really be anymore positive than that as I am still reeling from not getting to see House.

Well at least I had a new set of Scrubs episodes to watch……WTF! Scrubs was shows repeats?!@? WHY?!? The show has been prempted like six times by the president you’d think they would have a back log of new epsidoes just waiting to air!

Also…HEY! All the work I put into the Epic 1 Year Anniversary Show has been for nothing. GREAT!

The only good news I got was that I passed both of my last classes. I am starting a US History Class and Economic Theory.

Jen and I are going to see WATCHMEN~! this Saturday so hopefully that saves this waste of a week…….. Ugggggggg

Yup….This Sucks

The House/Heroes double shot on Monday once again brought the goods. House continues to tease something big happening but nothing has so far. So either they have something massive planned for the end of season five or they don’t have a lot of ideas. The season has been good but a bit of a down grade from season four.

Heroes continues to be sturdy with it’s story. I like where it’s going for the most part. I remain skeptical about weather or not they are rehashing the plot of the first season.

I caught whatever it was that Jen had. It sucks to have it, I am not a fan. I hate being sick. I am actually feeling better today, but not by a large margin or anything.

Scrubs wasn’t on AGAIN last night thatnks to a presidential address. It was a good address, but COME ON! Leave Scrubs alone!

Finals for my Accounting and Philosophy classes are due on Sunday…… I can only hope that I feel better before I have to finish them up.

I should also mention that Jen invited my parents over for dinner on Sunday, and she made THE BEST POT ROAST EVER! Don’t mess with crock pot food it will kick your ass!

No Flash Photography

I couldn’t find a lot of pictures for this posting. Okay the truth is there would be to many so I am just leaving it as plain ol’ text.  Back to last Saturday.

Okay one picture……. I couldn’t resist…..sorry.

That’s the new TV we picked up. Got a new stand and a Blu-Ray player as well. Let’s just get this out of the way now….. I LOVE BLU-RAY!!!!!

Most of Sunday was spent in front of this great TV. Superbowl was fun to watch. Despite the lack of cable and High-Def.

House brought the goods for it’s 100th episode! I was expecting some sort of major plot direction but apparently it was just wrapping up some on going stories leading into some new ones.

Darn! Another picture! Heroes returned and I was actually really happy with this new direction the show is taking. I’m still going with a “wait and see” kind of feeling on the show. It has it’s ups and downs and hopefully the show is starting to pick up steam again.

Scrubs was a lot of fun tonight. I am really enjoying the season so far, even if nothing has really stood out for me.  Gah I guess that’s it for now. Here’s to me having something to write about other than TV shows and movies.

Fire And Rain

January 29, 2009

Work and school have pretty much kept me away from the blog. The good news is that there hasn’t been much going on.  Jen and I watched a good episode of House on Monday.

The look on that babies face is insanely priceless! A spinoff show where House is charged with taking care on a young infant would equal ratings! The episode itself was pretty darn good but it looks like they are going for a big episode next Monday and I can’t wait! Heroes also returns that day as well! WIN!

I’d have a picture of the recent Scrubs episode except the people that run the web site are severely lacking in the motivation department apparently. Anyway, Scrubs was great! The first episode alone had what felt like an endless supply of Sesame Street cameos. My personal favorite was Oscar the Grouch as the Chief of Medicine.

I got a pretty big pell check the other day as well. It was not expected but defitnely welcomed. We are paying off the credit cards and scoring ourselves and HD TV and some Blu-Ray goodness!

In the bummer news for this post, Kayla has been struggling socially at school and it seems to get worse every week. We are taking her to get tested for ADHD. We hope that it is not the case but the situation is starting to get out of hand and we need to eliminate or confirm this as a possibility.

Have I had this as a blog title before? Okay sort of yes. Completely different circumstances though. You see Scrubs was on last night!

JD and Elliot returned to their persuit of romantic involvement with eachother. Is this yet another Scrubs tease? Will JD find a way to fuck it all up? Or do they finally commit and go through it? I was questioning weather or not it actually had any meaning anymore because they waited so long to do it. The answer was….YES still had some meaning as Jen and I both said “AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW” in that way when you see a sickenling cute kitten or puppy or baby monkey.

Not much else really going on. Epic has it’s first show of 2009 this Friday. I will be sure to write about how that all went. Next week House returns to the small screen and I ca’nt wait! By the way I am still totally hooked on Twitter! Follow me if you read this. The link is on the right hand side of the screen.
