Wiped Out

October 10, 2007

Fantastic episode of House last night. House survivor really narrowed down the choices for his new diagnostic team. However the popular belief is that Cameron, Foreman, and Chase will be back sometime before the season is over.

Other then that I slept like shit, and the rest of the night was pretty sucky.

On the bright side we god the proofs back for our belt designs (for the wrestling promotion). They both look really good, and we can’t wait to see how they look when they are all done. If your interested, you can check out the proofs on our website which is located in my Blogroll to your right.

Peace Of Mind

October 9, 2007

As I sit here listening to the entire Boston discography I have noticed today has quietly turned into a good day. First and foremost I finally got the Boston discography to download. Then I was almost immediately saddened to learn that the lead singer Brad Delp had committed suicide earlier this year. Boston was before my time, bu my parents both LOVED them. They quickly grew on me as well, at a young age I might add. They have been and will continue to be one of my favorite bands of all time.

However my day got better. I finally got the Xbox working again. I can alleviate my boredom for a while anyway. That was nice. I also pitched my first VG Baseball perfect game. Oddly enough it was with Jeremy Bonderman, who had been my most unreliable pitcher thus far.

Then HEROES~!

The show has really started to pick up steam. It was a lot of fun. We are starting to see the pieces come together. It was a little slow starting at first, but it was like that last season as well. I can’t say I’m very impressed by the “Wonder Twins From Mexico” storyline. Outside of that I’m pretty intrigued by everything else. I can’t wait to see where and how it all plays out.

Add to that, the Yankees have been eliminated by the Indians~! A pretty damn fine day if I say so myself.

Yeah Because They Suck

October 7, 2007

Theese are the words I hear out the mouth of beautiful four year old girl in reference to the Indians and the Yankees. See now that the Tigers are out of the post season I’m picking my favorites on both sides. This year I’m pick the Diamond Back, and The Rockies in the NL, and the Indians, and the Red Sox in the AL. I’m officially rooting for the Rockies and the Red Sox though. The D-Back swept the Cubs, and the Rockies swept the Phillies. The Sox are on the verge of sweeping the Angels, as I type this as a matter of fact. The Indians play the Yankees later tonight. The Yanks are on the verge of being swept as well. I’m not an Indians fan either, so I’m hoping for a Red Sox World Series berth.

By the way, I did make sure to admonish my child to not use the word “suck” in the future.

Weekend was very very very very very very uneventful. We went to church with Jen’s parents today. Afterwards we had a small cook-in with some hot dogs and chips. Jen’s Dad and i watched the Lions get obliterated, then we all went out to Mussel Beach to score some Ice Cream on this blazingly hot OCTOBER day.

Atleast I have Heroes and House to look forward to tomorrow.

Episode 2

October 3, 2007

I figured since nothing else happened on Monday I’d just wait until now to write about my day today, and yesterday. They consisted of three things, all of them were TV related (how sad).

Heroes on Monday was really good. I have the feeling that I will never get enough of this show. I learned from last season that the first few episodes are little slow, as far as the main story getting under way. I’m not on the edge of my seat yet, but I most certainly will be in fairly short order.

I’m really digging the Hiro/Kensei storyline that’s going on. Nothing else has really been developed enough, but I can really see it going somewhere.

We also watched the second episode of this show called Journyman. They managed to win us over enough to once again check it out next week. It’s about a man who involuntarily travels through time, seemingly to follow a person and help them in some way. It also appears that his former fiance also does this (she apparently is dead in his present) but he runs into her while time traveling. Not much has been explained regarding that. However, it’s been enough to keep us interested.

House continues it’s reign of awesomeness. Tonight’s episode was one of those really wacky ones where he will go so far beyond reason to solve a mystery, that it almost seems silly. Next week’s episode also seems to be one of theese. Sometimes I like them, sometimes not as much. I guess it really depends on my mood that day. Today I really enjoyed “House Survivor”. I’m more interested to see how his original team eventually comes back together.

It’s Not The World Series

October 1, 2007

The Tigers played their last game of the season today. It was a crushing win over the Chicago White Sox 13-3. Most people you’ll run into will say this season was a failure. I’m obviously not one of those. I thought they had a great season. Yeah, they could have done better, but every team the DOESN’T win the World Series could have done better. I know they aren’t gonna make the playoffs every year. But as long as they are a contender, I’m a happy camper.

Jen, Kayla, and myself had a blast attending the Tigers/Mariners game earlier this month, and we all want to go back next year. We finished in second place, and that’s fine by me. With all of the injuries this year and the constant subbing of guys for minor leaguers we managed to keep it close all the way up to the last week of the season.

Besides, if you can’t find joy in the way the team finished as a whole, you can take some enjoyment in how well they played on an individual basis.

– Magglio has one the batting title. He had the best batting average in all of baseball this year (.363).
– Verlander pitched a no-hitter in his second year as a pro, and has had 17+ win seasons for both as well.
– Todd Jones earned his 300th career save.
– Polonco and Maggs both got over 200 hits (career bests for both).
– Pudge moved into third place for most games caught in baseball history.
– Curtis Grandersong became only the 6th man to ever get a 20-20-20 season (20 HR, 20 Doubles, and 20 Triples). Then he became only the third man in babseball history to earn a 20-20-20-20 (20 HR, 20 Doubles, 20 Triples, and 20 Steals) in one season.Oh yeah, HEY! THE LIONS WON! AGAIN!!!
